The region issued a notice of commencement for the Stage 2 ION Transit Project Assessment process on December 10. It is the first step in bringing the rail line to Cambridge.

Applications for the funding are now open, and the province aims to fund programs to support up to 2,000 people, including those traditionally under-represented in construction.

While several projects have changed schedule or status, there are no major changes from the last iteration of the document released in September.

The work will improve ventilation, plumbing, electrical and mechanical systems while modernizing the 60-year-old washrooms and elevator to meet accessibility standards.

The 11 projects include retrofit work on municipal buildings, and construction of active transportation infrastructure and disaster mitigation infrastructure.
