PCL Constructors joins POST Promise
PCL Constructors is the latest organization to sign on to the POST Promise initiative.
The program, which is led by businesses across the province and has been endorsed by the federal government, is a training and education platform that is designed to raise awareness about the precautions needed to control the spread of COVID-19.
Companies use the promise to let employees and customers know that proper health and safety measures are being followed to mitigate COVID-19 at all its job and office sites.
The promise is not an official certification or approval from any regulatory body. Businesses that make the promise are still required to follow the laws and recommended guidelines from their local public health office and government bodies.
The program centres on five key strategies aimed at reducing the spread of COVID-19:
- Maintain social distancing.
- Stay home if unwell.
- Practise respiratory etiquette.
- Clean and disinfect regularly.
- Wash and sanitize hands.
“PCL’s COVID-19 HSE practices already include these measures, and many more. However, we believe that support of the POST Promise both within our workplaces and as a more widespread Canadian movement is an important step towards Canada managing responsibly through and moving carefully beyond the COVID-19 impacts,” says Dave Filipchuk, PCL’s president and CEO.
“We applaud all businesses that have already made these commitments and invite businesses of all types to join PCL and others in making the POST Promise. We are proud to be part of a collective solution to help Canadians confidently and safely make their way back into the workplace and public spaces knowing their well-being is always top of mind.”
Other organizations that have taken the POST Promise include Labatt, BOMA Canada, Oxford Properties, Cadillac Fairview, Giant Tiger, and the Canadian Federation of Independent Businesses.
