CIG acquires Ottawa’s Clean Water Works
Ottawa sewer contractor Clean Water Works (CWW) has been sold to Capital Infrastructure Group Inc. (CIG).
The companies announced the transaction on January 12. The deal sees CIG acquire all outstanding shares of CWW from Market Square Ltd. Partnership.
CWW was founded in Ottawa 2005 by John Brule and later sold to Market Square Ltd. Partnership. The company provides sewer rehabilitation, sewer and inspection services, plumbing and drain services, maintenance and installations across Ontario, Quebec and New Brunswick. Its environmental services include hazardous waste disposal and remediation services including tank cleaning, contaminated soil removal and lagoon cleaning.
“Today is a pivotal day for both our companies along with the sewer rehabilitation industry in Canada. The consolidation of these two industry leaders creates a platform that we feel will significantly benefit our industry partners, employees and clients,” said CIG president David Beswick.
This acquisition represents the third infrastructure service provider transaction for CIG in the past eight months.
In December 2021, the company added vacuum excavation and horizontal directional drilling services to its portfolio with the acquisition of Allied Utility Services Inc. and Markervac Inc., based in Queensville, Ontario.
Founded in the late 1990s, Allied is a specialty utility service provider specializing in horizontal drilling for the telecommunications, hydroelectric, water and wastewater industries. Allied also provides specialty HDPE fusion services for these industries. Markervac has a fleet of hydro vac trucks that mainly support the hydroelectric industry in southern Ontario along with servicing many critical utilities.
In June 2021, CIG acquired Northeast Safety Boats LLC, from its owners Jack and Linda Casey. Based in New Hartford, Connecticut, the company supplies safety and support services to bridge inspection, rehabilitation and construction. It operates in 11 states predominantly on the Northeastern seaboard of the United States.
The Northeast acquisition marked CIG’s first foray into the United States market.
Founded in 2014, and headquartered in Vaughan, Ontario, CIG is a multi-discipline infrastructure service provider, specializing in water, wastewater and bridge rehabilitation.
