The report, released Thursday by PwC Canada, provides a mid-year update on M&A activity across all sectors of the Canadian economy. 

The third and final phase of the project includes new storm and sanitary sewers, watermain upgrades and new pavements.

Investment in residential sector declined 2.7% to $14.2 billion, while the non-residential sector fell 0.5% to $6.3 billion.
