The province says the money will go toward the design and construction of the buildings at the Centre for Addiction and Mental Health.

The company says the manufacturing, engineering and construction phases of the work to install four of its units could also create 125,000 person years of employment, and $8.1 billion in GDP output.

By expanding the plant’s capacity by 40 million litres per day, the region hopes to support the construction of as many as 47,000 additional housing units.

Municipalities have been underfunded for decades and municipal funding models have not kept pace with record growth, the organization says.
