The milestone is the latest in the hospital’s efforts to start construction of a new facility in 2027.

Western Mechanical Electrical Millwright Services pled guilty to its role in the incident that saw a worker struck by a 7,200-pound flywheel.

The results of the election, which saw Chow capture 37 per cent of the vote, are set to be certified by the city clerk on Wednesday with a swearing-in date still to be announced. 

The building will become one of the facilities of its kind in the world, with a capacity of more than 96 million cubic feet.

The building is being constructed under a public-private partnership arrangement between the university and developers Tilbury Capital.
