Toronto’s downtown office vacancy rate reached 15.3 per cent, the highest level Canada’s largest office market has seen since 1995.

Mayer has served on the association’s board since 2013, and intends to focus on highlighting the construction industry as a first-choice career for youth.

The latest are for the Pape Tunnel and underground stations, and the elevated guideway and stations. Six teams have been pre-qualified to bid on the packages, with Metrolinx expected to start the development phase of the project next year.

Through March 31 of next year, inspectors will focus on falls from heights on single-family residential sites, and struck-by vehicles, equipment and materials on residential and non-residential sites.

The building has been designed by Diamond Schmitt Architects Inc. and will be built by Maystar General Contractors.
