The government is adding nearly $99 million to its Union Training and Innovation Program and its Women in Skilled Trades Initiative to bolster the participation of equity-deserving groups in the skilled trades.

Investment in building construction increased to $21.1 billion in August, with most of the gains coming from British Columbia.

The project will transform Nokia’s 26-acre campus at the Kanata North Business Park into a mixed-use corporate, residential and commercial hub.

A team of students from the college’s Forest Technician – Conservation Program will plant more than 2,000 seedlings on a wind berm at Algoma’s Sault Ste. Marie campus.

The first phase is expected to add roughly 10,000 tonnes per year of contained nickel and 13,000 tonnes per year of copper.
