Shopify’s impending move into Toronto's The Well makes it one of many tech companies not backing away from new digs – even as their leaders espouse hybrid or remote work arrangements.

A new report from the council offers a series of recommendations – five for each of the three levels of government – aimed at addressing the housing supply and affordability crisis.

Two-thirds of those excess retirements were in four industries: health care, construction, retail trade, and education and social assistance.

Men were less likely than women to discontinue apprenticeships in construction trades, while among those who did end their training, women were more likely to pursue post-secondary education elsewhere.

The additional incentives for smaller businesses that were announced last summer will be extended through 2023. HSEP rebates are doubled, and employers can earn $1,000 toward their health and safety plans.
