The funding will be used to refit the school building with solar panels, high-efficiency windows, power-assisted doors and a rooftop solar array, all of which should cut its energy consumption by 60 percent.

The Ontario Transit Group has been tipped to deliver the Ontario Line South Civil, Stations and Tunnel component, while Connect 6ix is the preferred proponent for the Rolling Stock, Systems, Operations and Maintenance component.

Construction of the 85,000-square-foot facility in Queensville, near Leslie Street and Jim Mortson Drive, will take place over approximately 26 months and is slated to start next month.

Funding the project comes in the form of investments of more than $429,000 from the two senior levels of government. The construction work itself is expected to be completed by June 2023.

Both the residential (+1.0% to $15.7 billion) and non-residential sectors (+0.1% to $5.3 billion) showed increases.
