The deal involves more than eight acres of property overlooking Beach Area One, with the goal of turning the existing buildings into mixed-use developments.

The Town of Collingwood has selected Streetcar Developments Inc. & Dream Unlimited Corp. to move forward with their proposal to revitalize the Collingwood Grain Terminals. 

Beginning next month, the program will provide eligible employers with up to $20,000 in financial incentives to hire apprentices from 39 Red Seal trade categories.

Vacancies increased by 32,200 in June, leaving employers with a combined 1,037,900 vacant positions. It was the third consecutive month in which combined vacancies exceeded one million.

Acceptance of the agreement by the union’s members could avoid a strike at a time when the steel market is booming.
