Lodging Econometrics’ report for the first quarter of 2022 shows 258 hotel projects planned or under construction across the country. Ontario accounts for 60 percent of those projects, while Toronto accounts for 25 percent of the national inventory.

The association has outlined five issues that it wants to see addressed by the next provincial government. Among them are regular funding on transportation infrastructure projects, and mechanisms to help address the shortage of heavy civil construction labourers.
