At $27.6 million, Toronto will receive the lion’s share of the funding. The city and its partners will put the money toward 14 cultural, community and active transportation infrastructure projects.

Ontario's fiscal watchdog estimates 45 per cent of municipal infrastructure in the province needs repairs, which it says will cost about $52 billion. 

The first is scheduled to open at the 10 Acre Truck Stop in Belleville at the beginning of 2022. The other four sites—in Hamilton, Waterloo, London and Windsor—will unfold over the four following years.

Procurement can now begin on five stations across Toronto with the aim of bringing more frequent rapid transit service across the city.

The agency announced non-repayable contributions for the Sarnia Chris Hadfield Airport, the St. Thomas Municipal Airport and the Tillsonburg Regional Airport.
