The quarterly report from analysts Lodging Econometrics shows lower volumes of projects under construction and projects scheduled to start construction in the next 12 months.

Building permit values cracked the $10-billion mark for the month, thanks to another strong performance in the housing sector. Permit values for non-residential work dropped 3%.

Shortlisted to respond to the RFP for the $1-billion-plus project are teams led by EllisDon, PCL Constructors and Amico Design Build Inc.

The $45-million facility will be the company’s first in Ontario, from which it will build concrete pavement products and permeable pavement solutions.
