Bracebridge bridge replacement delayed by COVID
Replacement of the Black Bridge over the Muskoka River in Bracebridge has been delayed due to supply chain issues created by the COVID-19 pandemic. The project is now scheduled for completion in the spring.
IO awards contracts for four LTC builds
The projects are located at three sites within the GTA—Durham, Toronto and Mississauga. Three of the contracts have been awarded to EllisDon; the other to PCL.
Tweed bridge completed under ICIP
Work on the Boundary Bridge in Tweed was completed this summer at a cost of $1.8 million. It is one of the first projects delivered under the Investing in Canada Infrastructure Program.
SWIFT awards $12M in broadband contracts in Waterloo Region
Construction of the projects is expected to begin as early as April, and will bring faster, more reliable internet service to more than 1,000 homes and businesses across the region by mid-2022.
Hamilton approves $484M capital budget
A large share of the funding will be directed at transit, as well as roads, bridges and traffic, sidewalks. The city also expects to receive funding from senior levels of government in the form of the rapid housing initiative and the federal COVID-19 Resilience Infrastructure Stream.
