Employment across the country dropped again in May as several provinces, including Ontario, maintained public-health shutdowns to help control the spread of COVID-19.

The free program aims to generate employment opportunities with local employers and fill employment gaps within the industry.

The province has announced funding of nearly $440,000 that will be put towards a program to help more than 2,000 high-school students learn more about careers in the skilled trades and technology sectors.

A two-year project to enhance the safety of the piers is complete at a cost of $26 million. The federal government is now in the process of transferring ownership of the piers to the City of St. Catharines.

The vaccination site at Brampton’s CAA Centre can process thousands of vaccines daily. The initiative was put together with Bruce Power and Peel Region with the support of several construction organizations and dozens of industry volunteers.
