Design competition open for LGBTQ2+ National Monument
The monument, which will be located near the Supreme Court of Canada building in Ottawa, will commemorate the historic discrimination against LGBTQ2+ people in Canada between the 1950s and 1990s.
Province commits $760M more for long-term care homes
The funding will be used to renovate or build 74 facilities across the province. The government’s new accelerated delivery program for long-term care homes has already funded the construction of 49 new facilities.
NRC opens advanced materials research facility
The building will serve as a national clean energy hub, where researchers from the public, private and academic sectors will collaborate on projects to develop clean technologies and advanced materials.
Province opens COVID-19 Resilience Infrastructure stream for municipalities
Each municipality will receive at least $100,000. Funding applications are due on December 21, and the province will submit projects for approval to the federal government by March.
Credit River bridge contract awarded
The P3 team led by EllisDon and Coco Paving has been chosen to lead the project, which will see the 85-year old bridge in Mississauga preserved, and various improvements made to the QEW.
