The province has announced the fast-track construction of another long-term care home—this one at Humber River Hospital.

The first of the funding under the federal Safe Restart Agreement kicks in by the fall. The money will be split among funding to relieve operating pressures, funding for transit, and funding for shelters.

A recent decision of the Ontario Superior Court of Justice regarding termination clauses poses a particular concern for construction industry employers. 

The financial relief package put in place by the Workplace Safety and Insurance Board last spring originally required companies to pay back deferred premiums at the end of this month.

After recording strong increases in permit values in June, Windsor’s construction market slowed considerably in July.
