The money will be earmarked for a dozen public-transit projects in the city, including construction of a dedicated bus rapid transit corridor along Lakeshore Road, as well as significant upgrades to the city’s MiWay bus fleet.

Three of the appointees represent British Columbia, Prince Edward Island and the Yukon, while the fourth will serve as a governor representing employers. They have been appointed to four-year terms.

The utility will use the property to build a new regional operations centre and provincial warehouse. The project is in addition to work on a $150-million grid control centre.

The combined company will operate as West Fraser with headquarters in Vancouver and a regional office in Toronto, with West Fraser shareholders owning 56 per cent of the company, and Norbord shareholders owning about 44 per cent.
