A single system for development applications and approvals adopted by municipalities across the province could yield huge benefits not only for local governments, but also builders and consumers.

Construction crews achieved the milestone on August 24. 100 Queens Quay East will be a 25-storey tower in downtown Toronto, and the first phase of the Sugar Wharf community.

The province has also appointed three youth advisors to raise awareness of the skilled trades among elementary and high-school students.

Ontario’s share of the $2 billion announced by the federal government comes to just over $763 million. Payments will be made in the fall and early next year.

The latest forecast from the Conference Board of Canada suggests the provinces’ economies will recover at different rates over the course of the next year to 18 months.
