Heavy construction crews will soon be back at work in the area, says CAO Mike Murray.

The PPP project will bring cellular service to more than 100 rural communities and more than one million people across Eastern Ontario.

The organization’s monthly report on employment shows job losses in nearly every sector, with health care among just two to show gains. Construction lost 8,400 jobs.

McMaster Innovation Park has plans in the works for a 2.5-million square foot expansion to its campus in Hamilton. Construction values and schedule are not yet known.

The project is valued at $4.8 million and will see extensive improvements to a 700-metre stretch of the road.
