The incident, which occurred in May 2017, forced the closure of several businesses, streets and government offices in the city’s downtown core.

The firms will work in joint venture to provide scheduling, risk-management and quality-assurance services on the four priority transit projects worth more than $28 billion.

Replacement of the Black Bridge over the Muskoka River in Bracebridge has been delayed due to supply chain issues created by the COVID-19 pandemic. The project is now scheduled for completion in the spring.

The projects are located at three sites within the GTA—Durham, Toronto and Mississauga. Three of the contracts have been awarded to EllisDon; the other to PCL.

Work on the Boundary Bridge in Tweed was completed this summer at a cost of $1.8 million. It is one of the first projects delivered under the Investing in Canada Infrastructure Program.
