Local construction associations are encouraging their members to donate supplies of much-needed personal protective equipment to help doctors and nurses stem the tide of the COVID-19 pandemic.

Applications for the Canada Emergency Response Benefit will be accepted in early April. The benefit could pay as much as $2,000 per month for four months for workers that have lost their incomes due to COVID-19.

The national association represents nearly 1,000 firms, and is calling on construction sites to remain open, while providing resources for members to navigate the COVID pandemic.

The associations have suggested seven strategies to follow to maintain worker safety during the COVID-19 pandemic.
