The money, which is the largest federal investment in the town, will fund four projects to manage water flow and protect residents and businesses from flooding.

The project scope will see the contractor wide the section of highway from four to six lanes, add concrete median barriers and a new storm sewer system. The concrete barriers will help to reduce the likelihood of cross-median collisions.

The decline maintains the downward trend that started in May with the lifting of provincial employment restrictions enacted to combat the spread of COVID-19.
