Canadian Home Builders' Association CEO Kevin Lee said in Ottawa on Tuesday that the U.S. tariffs on Canada will have a "muted" impact on the industry on their own.

Construction of the project would create hundreds of new, full-time jobs and support Ontario’s emerging end-to-end critical mineral supply chain.

Ford added that he wants to get rid of free trade barriers between provinces, speed up infrastructure and mineral extraction approvals and build oil and gas pipelines "east, west and north."

Refinements to the plan include minor changes to road right-of-ways and development blocks to further optimize site layout and traffic patterns.
