Employment grows by 246,000 in August
The national jobs market continued its march toward a pre-pandemic recovery in August. Construction hiring was nearly flat, but the industry is already within 92 percent of its February employment level.
Provincial exam centres re-open
Apprentices and skilled tradespeople can now book their final exams at their local apprenticeship offices.
Province provides $37M in funding for skills training
The full list of partner organizations supported under the funding will be released on September 25, but it includes the Provincial Building and Construction Trades Council of Ontario.

The province has also appointed three youth advisors to raise awareness of the skilled trades among elementary and high-school students.
