Building construction investment holds steady in October
Statistics Canada reports the level of investment at $20.9 billion – almost exactly the same as reported at the end of September. Ontario reported nearly all of the gains.
HOPA Ports, Max Aicher North America sign lease agreement for Hamilton waterfront lands
The arrangement pertains to a 60-acre parcel at Pier 18 on Hamilton Harbour. HOPA plans to develop the property for a range of industrial uses, while MANA retains ownership.
Feds, city, province commit to $1.5B worth of work at Bloor-Yonge Subway Station
Work will include the construction of a second platform on Line 2 for eastbound service, an expansion of the Line 1 northbound and southbound platforms, new elevators, escalators and stairs, and construction of a new accessible entrance and exit on Bloor Street East.

The organization overseeing the city's waterfront says the agreement with Dream Unlimited Corp. and Great Gulf Group. to develop the 12-acre neighbourhood known as Quayside was endorsed Thursday.
