The most recent funding announcement from the province and the federal government sees $51.2 million allocated to 129 municipalities in Ontario’s Southwest, Midwest and Central regions.

The dedicated facility will form part of the under-construction Zekelman Centre at St. Clair’s south campus. Completion is targeted for January 2022.

Infrastructure Ontario and Hamilton Health Sciences have invited three teams to respond to a request for proposals to design, build and finance the West Lincoln Memorial Hospital redevelopment project.

The report, which was prepared by Efficiency Canada, suggests that at the current pace of progress, it will take more than 140 years to retrofit all low-rise residential buildings and 71 years to retrofit all commercial floor area.

The community housing organization will use the funding to make repairs and upgrades to more than 11,000 units. Part of the funding comes in the form of a forgivable loan that OCHC will use for capital repairs.
