Ministry inspectors, supported by provincial offenses officers and consultants from the Infrastructure Health and Safety Association will visit 1,300 construction sites to enforce safety requirements relating to the spread of COVID-19.

Orillia has revealed developers’ plans to redevelop a significant piece of property along the city’s waterfront.

The agency has committed up to $655 million toward construction of a $1.7-billion project that will connect Ontario’s electricity grid with a regional transmission organization in the US. Part of the project involves running a transmission line under Lake Erie.

The governments made the announcement on April 14, and the funding will be used to provide critical infrastructure upgrades to protect students and staff from COVID-19.

The federal and provincial governments have announced more than $2.2 million in funding for a series of community-building projects in Milton, St-Charles and Ottawa.
