Five COVID cases reported at East-West Tie project camp
All five are isolating. The Thunder Bay District Health Unit is working with Valard Construction to assess the exposure risk to other workers, and identifying and following up on any contacts outside of the site.
New London school to be built
The province has announced an investment of nearly $17 million for a new school in southeast London. It is the second approved by the province in the city since October.
Feds allocate $203M for Toronto Rapid Housing
The City of Toronto will use the money to build seven projects that will create as many as 540 affordable units for people experiencing homelessness. One-fifth of those units will be allocated to Indigenous communities; an additional 20 percent will be allocated to women and girls.
Slight drop in construction investment in November
Non-residential investment was mostly unchanged in November, remaining at $4.4 billion. Investment in residential construction, meanwhile, edged down 0.1 percent.
CIB to back Oneida energy project
The Canada Infrastructure Bank has lent its support to the development of a 250 megawatt/1,000 megawatt-hour energy storage facility near London—the largest project of its kind in the country. The bank will make an official investment decision this spring.
