Clearwater Structures to open Bowmanville facility
A major heavy civil construction company plans to open a new facility in Bowmanville.
Clearwater Structures has submitted a site plan application with the Clarington planning department to build an industrial building on Lake Road in Bowmanville. The building would span more than 37,000 square feet, and contain two floors of office space at the front of the building. The remainder of the building is to be used for manufacturing and equipment storage.
The site is currently vacant.
Clearwater Structures is currently based out of Ajax. The company specializes in bridge rehabilitation and construction, and operates multiple divisions across the province. Its client list includes many major provincial municipalities, as well as Parks Canada and the provincial ministry of transportation.
The Clarington Board of Trade and Office of Economic Development expects that the facility will create 35 jobs in Bowmanville. Clearwater Structures also usually employs up to 250 seasonal workers throughout their projects.
