Julie Zulich named TESC president
TESC Contracting announced earlier this month that senior vice-president Julie Zulich assumed the role of president of the company. She becomes the first woman to hold the role in the company’s 40-plus year history.
In her role, Zulich will oversee all operations and business activities for the Sudbury-based mechanical contracting firm.
“I am honoured to be named the president of TESC Contracting,” said Zulich. “I am grateful for the encouragement of my partners, Dario Zulich and Don Bennett, who not only have confidence in my abilities, but who have also been supportive of this exciting change.”
“My father was one of the founders of TESC in 1976 and I am eager to play a key role in this legacy. I am excited to lead this team into the next decade. It is a privilege to guide and develop the most talented people into industry leaders who deliver high quality construction services to the best clients.”
Zulich has worked with TESC since 2000, during which time she has held various leadership positions. She is also an active member of various industry associations, including the Mechanical Contractors Association of Canada (MCAC)—of which she is the first female director.
In early 2019, Zulich was named the first chair of MCAC’s Women in Mechanical Construction committee. The group provides a forum in which female professionals in the mechanical construction industry may connect, interact and share experiences.
“Across Canada, women are providing tremendous contributions to the mechanical contracting industry and we look forward to showcasing that through WiMC,” said Zulich. “We are excited to share those stories and encourage more females to consider this field as a career.”
She also chairs the Sudbury Chapter of Hope’s Eating Disorders Support Services.
“Julie is an excellent choice to steer and inspire management representatives to develop a high performing team and advance employee engagement as we enter this next chapter,” said Dario Zulich, company partner. “Julie is a proven leader with a strong business acumen, a unique perspective, and the ability to bring people together.”
Dario Zulich remains a partner in TESC, where he oversees business development. Bennett will continue to serve as a principal and an advisor.
