CCA to host Un-Conference June 15
It may not be the live event in San Diego that attendees had planned for, but the Canadian Construction Association will release some of the content from its cancelled annual convention later this month.
Dubbed The Un-Conference, the digital event will bring sessions, industry information, one-on-one interviews, and the full slate of the national association’s annual awards program to a dedicated conference website.
CCA president Mary Van Buren explains The Un-Conference won’t be a live event, but viewers will be invited to watch and comment on the content.
“We recorded a lot of great content that was due to be presented at our conference in San Diego,” she says. “We’ll share those recordings on June 15, and encourage viewers to participate by asking questions.”
Some of the sessions planned for release include a one-on-one discussion with scheduled keynote presenter Mandy Rennehan, the CEO and Founder of Freshco Retail Maintenance. The Un-Conference will also feature panel discussions on such topics as predicting politics, financing innovation, the future of Canadian infrastructure, ways to get youth more interested in construction careers, and stories about how construction gives back to local communities. Content from event sponsors will also feature prominently.
The association also plans to announce the names of those individuals, firms and associations that received the 2020 CCA national awards.
