Alltrade Contractors appoints director of construction
Alltrade Industrial Contractors announced on May 15 that it has appointed Jack Gibson, the former vice-president of construction with Aecon, to serve as its director of construction.
The Cambridge-based contractor operates across southwestern Ontario and into the GTA. It focuses on the energy, industrial, transit and utility markets, with an emphasis on self-performing work in the electrical, piping, sheet metal, and millwriting and ironworking trades.
Gibson, who counts more than 40 years in the energy and industrial markets, brings a wide breadth of experience to Alltrade. He began his career as an apprentice electrician working on various projects in the power, gas compression, and automotive sectors. He later expanded his skills into roles such as estimating, procurement, project management and operations management.
"I spent the early part of my career learning every aspect of the construction business and what it takes to lead a successful project and an integrated team," says Gibson. This experience led him to a role at Aecon as Vice President of Construction.
At Aecon, he led many large projects, including the Sask Power Queen Elizabeth Power Plant, the UGL Dawn to Parkway compressor stations, the Spectra Energy Sunset Creek (BC) compressor station, and the Northland Power Solar projects.
"It is truly a pleasure to be once again working with Jack," said Alltrade president Bob Ritzmann. "When I started my first job out of high school, it was Jack who signed me up as a new electrical apprentice at Nicholls Radtke, which eventually became Aecon. We worked together for almost 15 years before I made an employer change. We are excited to welcome Jack to the Alltrade team."
