IO, Grandview kids shortlist three
Infrastructure Ontario (IO) and Grandview Kids announced on February 9 that they have shortlisted three teams to design, build and finance the Grandview Children’s Treatment Centre Redevelopment project.
The teams were shortlisted based on criteria identified in a request for qualifications process that began in September 2020. Selection criteria included design and construction capability, experience, qualified personnel and financial capacity to undertake a project of this size and scope.
The teams are:

The teams will be invited to respond to a request for proposals this spring. Contract close is expected in the fall with construction scheduled to run between November 2021 and December 2023. The latest market update from IO suggests that the project will be valued at less than $200 million.
The project scope calls for consolidating the main Grandview site in Oshawa with five satellite locations across the GTA into a single, purpose-built facility located on a six-acre site in Ajax.
The new Grandview Children's Centre will provide family-centred care for children and youth with physical, communication and developmental needs and their families in the Durham Region.
In July, IO announced that it had selected global design and consulting firm B+H Architects to serve as the planning, design and conformance team, and Colliers Project Leaders to serve as project manager.
