Three selected for West Lincoln hospital RFP
Infrastructure Ontario and Hamilton Health Sciences announced on June 30 that they have invited three teams to respond to a request for proposals (RFP) to design, build and finance the West Lincoln Memorial Hospital redevelopment project.
The three pre-qualified teams and their prime team members include: Amico Sacyr Alliance, which is led by a joint venture of constructors Amico Design Build Inc. and Sacyr Construction S.A, with design support from IBI Group and financial advisors Operis Business Engineering Limited; EllisDon Infrastructure Healthcare, which is led by EllisDon Corporation with support from Parkin Architects; and Pomerleau Healthcare Partners, which is led by Pomerleau with design support from Cumulus Architects Inc and WalterFedy.
The teams were prequalified based on criteria identified in a request for qualifications process that began in November 2020.
Infrastructure Ontario and Hamilton Health Sciences expect to announce a successful bidder next spring.
Located in Grimsby, the West Lincoln Memorial Hospital provides inpatient services and outpatient services, including emergency services, complex and palliative care, surgery and a maternal and newborn program.
The redevelopment of the hospital will involve the construction of a new, larger hospital on the property behind the existing facility. Project specifications include new acute inpatient beds, a 24-hour emergency department, maternal and newborn services, increased outpatient care space, and advanced diagnostics including X-ray, mammography, echocardiography and ultrasound, and CT scanner.
In July of 2020, a joint venture of B+H Architects/mcCallumSather was selected as the planning, design and conformance team. The architects will prepare project documents, monitor construction progress and provide coordination and oversight during commissioning, completion, and transition to the new hospital.
The latest P3 market update issued by Infrastructure Ontario estimates the project value at between $200 million and $499 million.
