Techo-Bloc Ayr plant scheduled for spring opening
Quebec-based block manufacturer Techo-Bloc says its new manufacturing plant in Ayr, Ontario will be opened in the spring.
The state-of-the-art facility will be the company’s first in Ontario, from which it will build concrete pavement products and permeable pavement solutions. It also intends to make the $45-millon Ayr facility into a research and development hub for new products.
Techo-Bloc says the facility will boast cutting-edge manufacturing technologies, and become one of the largest industrial permeable-pavement assembly plants in North America.
The project is backed by $4 million in grants and loans from the federal and provincial governments, and is expected to employ 50 people.
''We are thrilled to be establishing a presence in Ayr,'' said Charles Ciccarello, founder and president of Techo-Bloc Inc. ''We have always been trailblazers in the industry, and this move will help us continue to innovate and deliver high-quality products, while also supporting the local community.''
Construction of this facility plays a vital role in sustaining the company's growth. By increasing production capacity and service levels, Techo-Bloc says it will be able to effectively supply the market while relieving pressure on its other plants and preparing to meet forecasted production demand for the years ahead.
The Ayr plant will be the company's 9th manufacturing facility to date.
