Amico-led team selected to lead Grandview Kids P3 project
Infrastructure Ontario and Grandview Kids have awarded the contract for the redevelopment of the Grandview Children’s Centre in Ajax to a public-private consortium led by Amico Design Build.
IO and Grandview Kids will now work to finalize contract details with Children First Consortium.
The project scope of work sees the P3 team design, build and finance a new consolidated site for the hospital in Durham Region.
The new purpose-built facility will be located on five acres of land, and will offer a variety of services such as occupational therapy, physiotherapy, speech-language pathology, therapeutic recreation, audiology, infant hearing, blind low vision, and social work, as well as the Ontario Autism Program, Developmental Paediatric Medical Services, and the Campbell Children's School.
In addition to the site, Grandview Kids will maintain three satellite locations in Clarington, Port Perry and Oshawa and its partnership with the Whitby Abilities Centre to reduce extensive travel times for some clients and caregivers.
The project is expected to reach financial close in the coming weeks. The contract cost will be announced publicly following financial close and construction is scheduled to begin shortly thereafter.
The Children First Consortium team includes applicant leads and constructors Amico Design Build Inc., and Sacyr Construction S.A; designers Parkin Architects, and H.H. Angus and Associated Limited, and financial advisors Stonebridge Financial Corporation.
