Toromont announces expansion plan for Bradford West Gwillimbury
Heavy-equipment dealer Toromont Industries has announced plans to build a new remanufacturing facility in Bradford West Gwillimbury.
The 137,000-square-foot facility is scheduled to open in early 2024 and will employ as many as 200 trades workers. It will be located on the north side of the 5th Line at Coffey Road, near Highway 400, and incorporate the latest in design and equipment.
The company says its component remanufacturing process helps to lower the lifecycle cost of customers' equipment and complements its sustainability and environmental, social and governance objectives.
Its real estate development team and consultants are working closely with town staff to meet project milestones.
"The Town is thrilled with Toromont's decision to invest in our community and bring 200 well-paying jobs to Bradford West Gwillimbury,” said Mayor Rob Keffer. “I'd like to thank the leadership team at Toromont for selecting BWG as the new home of their remanufacturing facility and we welcome them to a growing list of fantastic companies drawn to our burgeoning employment corridor along Highway 400."
Toromont Industries operates two business segments. The Equipment Group includes one of the larger Caterpillar dealerships by revenue and geographic territory, with operations in Newfoundland & Labrador, Nova Scotia, New Brunswick, Prince Edward Island, Québec, Ontario, Manitoba and Nunavut.
Its CIMCO segment designs, engineers, fabricates and installs industrial and recreational refrigeration systems.
