Station Mall in Sault Ste. Marie tapped for $60M upgrade
Developers the StratonHunter Group have announced a $60-million redevelopment plan for Sault Ste. Marie’s Station Mall.
The scope of the project, which is scheduled for completion in early 2024, calls for the addition of space to accommodate several high-end retail brands.
Plans also call for the addition of a 50,000-square foot, combined entertainment and dining area, as well as a full service sports bar and restaurant.
"We envision a modern mall that captures the imagination, encourages social interaction, and creates unforgettable moments," said Robert Carter, Managing Partner of The StratonHunter Group. "This substantial investment showcases Station Mall's commitment to delivering an unparalleled shopper experience."
The mall will also feature new, electric vehicle charging stations in the main lot.
Station Mall is one of Sault Ste. Marie’s premier shopping malls.
With 97 stores and 555,000 square feet of retail space, it is one of the city’s downtown landmarks, located minutes away from the Sault Ste. Marie International Bridge to the United States.
Built in 1973, the mall has undergone two major expansions and is now embarking on another significant renovation in 2023.
