Oshawa launches Major Transit Station Area study
The City of Oshawa has kicked off a study to support the development of the Central Oshawa GO Station site.
The Central Oshawa Major Transit Station Area Land Use and Area-specific Transportation Master Plan, also known as the Integrated MTSA study, is being led by Parsons Inc., and will consider how best to develop the proposed Central Oshawa GO Station site on Howard Street.
The study will consider two elements:
- a master land use and urban design plan to advance appropriate development and intensification within the MTSA boundary, in accordance with the Ontario Planning Act; and
- an area-specific transportation master plan to identify and recommend a preferred transportation option that accommodates future development.
The overall area of the MTSA study is bounded by: John Street and Eulalie Avenue to the north, Ritson Road South to the east, Highway 401 to the south, and the Oshawa Creek Valley to the west. The study also includes certain lands east of Ritson Road South.
The City of Oshawa will host the first of a series of public-information meetings on the study on February 2. The meetings will be held in person and streamed online.
