Angela Clayton assumes interim IO leadership role
The Ontario government has announced that Angela Clayton as an interim replacement for Michael Lindsay as the President and CEO of Infrastructure Ontario (IO)
Clayton assumes the role with more than 20 years’ experience in the infrastructure sector. Most recently, she has served as IO’s president of project delivery after taking over that role in 2021. She also has extensive experience working in both the private and public sectors in the areas of strategic planning, risk management and program management.
Her appointment follows on the heels of last week’s announcement that current IO President and CEO Lindsay will assume the leadership of Metrolinx with a mandate to complete construction of Toronto’s Eglinton Crosstown light rail project.
“I want to congratulate Angela Clayton on her appointment as the new interim-President and CEO of Infrastructure Ontario,” said Infrastructure Minister Kinga Surma. “Having already worked closely with her on many files, including the Ontario Line, I look forward to our continued collaboration in building the critical infrastructure Ontarians need to make their lives more affordable, convenient, healthy, and safe.”
Clayton, who had been due to leave her role at IO, agreed to delay that departure to assume the organization’s interim leadership role.
The organization says the search for her successor is ongoing.
