Skills Ontario names new chair, vice-chair
Skills Ontario has announced two changes to its board of directors.
David Morley, vice-president at Pomerleau Construction, has been appointed Chair of the Board, and Andrew Pariser, vice-president of the Residential Construction Council of Ontario (RESCON), will serve as Vice-Chair.
Meanwhile, Paul Armstrong, president of Mohawk College, will continue to play an active role on the board as Past Chair.
Skills Ontario says Morley is an experienced leader in infrastructure across public and private sectors and a strong advocate for youth skills development.
Pariser, meanwhile, is known for his dedication to advancing opportunities in skilled trades and for his strong track record of driving initiatives that support workers and industry growth.
“With David Morley as Chair and Andrew Pariser as Vice-Chair, we are confident that Skills Ontario will continue to create career pathways that change lives for Ontario’s youth,” said CEO Ian Howcroft. “Their leadership reflects our commitment to working with the provincial government, private businesses, and educators to help young people pursue careers in skilled trades and technologies.”
Other members of the Skills Ontario Board of Directors hail from organizations such as Ontario Power Generation, Humber Polytechnic, Deloitte, and Eastern Construction.
