Roshel announces plans to develop headquarters in Brampton
Armoured vehicle manufacturer Roshel Inc. has announced it will spend more than $65 million to develop a new global headquarters and production facility in Brampton.
The 140,000 square-foot facility will house painting, welding and mechanical work as well as the company’s research and development division.
“Roshel is excited to announce our pioneering expansion in the City of Brampton, highlighting our commitment to leading the industry through innovation and vertically integrated manufacturing processes,” said CEO Roman Shimonov. “By investing over $65 million in a state-of-the-art production facility, we not only affirm our confidence in Brampton's strategic location and the wealth of opportunities it offers but also reinforce our standing as the leader in providing specialized vehicles for law enforcement and defence.”
The City of Brampton Economic Development Office played a key role in securing this investment.
The office helps to streamline processes and remove barriers to encourage businesses to relocate to Brampton.
“We are thrilled to welcome Roshel to the City of Brampton,” said Mayor Patrick Brown. “This investment marks a significant milestone in our city's economic development and demonstrates the momentum here in Brampton. Our city's strategic location, diverse talent pool and vibrant business community make it the best place to invest. This collaboration reinforces our commitment to fostering growth, innovation and prosperity in our city.”
Brampton’s proximity to major transportation hubs, including Toronto Pearson Airport, is a critical component in attracting new investments, jobs and businesses. The city is focusing its economic development efforts on key sectors such as innovation and technology, advanced manufacturing, transportation logistics, food and beverage processing and health and life sciences.
