IO, Osler shortlist four for Peel Memorial Hospital Phase 2 redevelopment
Infrastructure Ontario (IO) and William Osler Health System (Osler) have issued a Request for Proposals (RFP) for four shortlisted teams to design and build the new Peel Memorial Hospital Phase 2 Redevelopment project.
The new Peel Memorial Hospital will increase health care capacity in the community and address the significant need for more specialized care for patients requiring longer hospital stays before they can safely return home or to community settings.
Features of the facility include: 250 inpatient beds, new and enhanced mental health and addictions programs, as well as new and enhanced services for seniors, including dementia care, and new and enhanced outpatient clinics and services.
It will also include a purpose-built emergency department to ensure additional capacity for a wide range of emergencies and urgent medical conditions.
The teams were shortlisted through a request for qualification process that began in May. The teams and their prime team members are:

The project will be delivered through IO’s Progressive Design-Build (Target Price) contract model, meaning that the top-ranked team will work with IO and Osler during a development phase, which is expected to start in 2025.
Once the development phase is completed, Osler may sign a construction contract with the successful team to deliver the project.
