Infrastructure Ontario (IO) has invited three teams to respond to a request for proposals (RFP) to design, build, finance and maintain the new Ontario Science Centre project.

These teams were selected from a request for qualifications stage that ran between May and August of last year. Teams were shortlisted for the RFP based on a number of criteria, such as design and construction capability, experience, qualified personnel and financial capacity to deliver a project of this size and scope.

IO is working with the Ministry of Infrastructure to build a new state-of-the-art facility for the Ontario Science Centre facility on the mainland at Ontario Place. The iconic Cinesphere and Pod complex will also be preserved, updated and integrated into the new facility.

The project is being delivered using a design-build-finance-maintain model.
