Bird signs development phase agreement for Peel Memorial Hospital Phase 2 Redevelopment
Bird Construction Inc. has entered into a Development Phase Agreement (DPA) with Infrastructure Ontario (IO) and William Osler Health System (Osler) to deliver the Peel Memorial Hospital Phase 2 Redevelopment project.
 Bird was announced as the project’s preferred proponent last month. The signing of the DPA marks the start of the project’s development phase.

As development partner, Bird will work with Osler and IO to advance the project’s design, schedule, pricing, and risk parameters under a progressive design-build model.
Upon completion of the development phase, Bird will have the option to sign an agreement to proceed with the construction phase, which would include agreements on detailed designs and a target price.

The Bird Design-Build Construction Inc. team includes:

- Design team: Cannon Design Ltd.
- Construction team: Bird Design-Build Construction Inc.
Features of the redevelopment project include: 250 inpatient beds with the space to build more in the future, new and enhanced mental health and addictions programs, new and enhanced services for seniors, rehabilitation and complex continuing care, new and enhanced outpatient clinics and services, and a 24/7 emergency department.
The project is being delivered through IO’s Progressive Design-Build (Target Price) delivery model.
