Three teams bid for Stevenson Memorial Hospital Phase 1 redevelopment project
Infrastructure Ontario and Stevenson Memorial Hospital have confirmed that three teams have bids to deliver the Stevenson Memorial Hospital Phase 1 Redevelopment Project in Alliston.
EllisDon Corporation, Ledcor Construction Limited, and Pomerleau Inc. were the three firms shortlisted and invited to respond to an RFP in April 2025.
IO is expected to announce the winning bidder in early 2026, pending final approvals.
The redevelopment will significantly expand the hospital’s clinical spaces equipped with advanced technology and modern facilities, including a 24-hour emergency department, medical/surgical inpatient unit, a fully equipped laboratory, surgical suites, obstetrics and a range of specialized care areas.
The work will allow Stevenson Memorial Hospital to increase inpatient bed capacity by 20 percent and will triple the square footage of the existing hospital.
Stevenson Memorial Hospital opened in 1928. The facility’s infrastructure requires an expansion to meet the community’s growing needs.
The original 1964 design of the current facility was intended to manage 7,000 visits per year. The hospital now sees almost 40,000 visits annually.
