Women in the Construction Industry - A Comprehensive Analysis
The Ontario Construction Association Alliance (Link2Build) is pleased to present this special report on Women in the Construction Industry. Prepared in advance of International Women’s Day, March 8, 2026, our report pays tribute to the thousands of women who have built careers in Ontario’s construction industry. It also provides a clear call to action: more must be done to close the industry’s gender gap to ensure women have greater representation throughout the construction sector.
Navigating the 2026 Construction Act updates
The London and District Construction Association and Link2Build hosted a webinar on January 14 where a group of speakers addressed the critical implications of the recently amended Construction Act for construction companies and stakeholders.
Speakers Glenn Ackerley and Kathleen Gregus of WeirFoulds LLP and Clive Thurston of Thurston Consulting Services Inc. addressed the ways in which Bill 60, the Fighting Delays, Building Faster Act, has changed how holdback, lien rights, and adjudication function across Ontario.
Issues discussed included:
- mandatory annual holdback release
- modernized lien processes
- enhanced protections for design professionals
- streamlined prompt payment & invoicing
- expanded adjudication rights
- navigating transition rules
LDCA and Link2Build are pleased to share the presentation in a variety of formats for reference:
