Big city mayors call for relief
The mayors of Ontario’s 29 largest cities met with the federal and provincial infrastructure ministers on October 15 to deliver a call for urgent and swift funding assistance. The call echoes those issued by construction groups.
Construction of Picton hospital advances
The province has invested $8.7 million toward the planning and design of the new facility. Once complete, it will add six in-patient beds, as well as new technology to support better patient care.
Tecumseh receives $11M in federal funding
The money, which is the largest federal investment in the town, will fund four projects to manage water flow and protect residents and businesses from flooding.
Coco Paving awarded Hwy 401 widening project
The project scope will see the contractor wide the section of highway from four to six lanes, add concrete median barriers and a new storm sewer system. The concrete barriers will help to reduce the likelihood of cross-median collisions.
Province introduces sweeping bill to accelerate construction projects
The bill aims to reduce barriers in the planning, design and construction of major infrastructure projects like highway and public transit networks, and support the growth of transit-oriented communities.
